A taxi driver was told to drive or be killed as someone held a knife to his throat.

The 34-year-old Asian male cab driver had picked up three passengers from Burgess Close, Hanworth, last Saturday, April 21.

The passengers asked to be taken to Staines. On the way one of the three asked to stop at the Tesco store because he wanted to use the cashpoint.

advertisementWhen the suspect got back in the taxi at about 12.45am he was brandishing an 8in kitchen knife, which he held to the driver's throat. He told the driver: "Drive off. I swear I'm going to kill you if you don't do as I say."

Then one of the rear seat passengers took hold of the driver's shirt and said: "Do as we say."

The cab driver pulled into Bear Road and the suspects got out and ran towards Hounslow Road.

One man was described as being black, about 5ft 7in and about 19 years old.

He was of medium build, and had short black hair and a West Indian accent. He was wearing a zip-up hoody and jogging bottoms.

His accomplice was white, of medium build, about 20 years old, 5ft 7in and wore a green and white short sleeve t-shirt and white trousers.

He had short dark hair, a beard and a London accent.
